Chaturbhuj Shree Ganesha – The Hindi word ‘Chaturbhuj’ means the one who has four hands. In this brass sculpture and posture Lord Ganesha is depicted with his four hands. The lower right hand is raised with palm facing outwards away from the body with fingers flexed. This hand gesture is called ‘Abhayamudra’ that offers protection for all from all evils. The lower left hand holds a special sweet called ‘Modak or Laddoo’. It is believed that it is the favorite sweet of Lord Ganesha, also it represents the sweet result of prayers one offers and the sweetest things of all - The liberation or ‘Moksha’.
